Our dojo provides a family-friendly environment, teaching traditional Japanese Karate. We offer instruction in Shito-Ryu Karate within the Genbukai organization, as taught by Shihan Fumio Demura. Genbukai also includes Kobudo, instruction in traditional Okinawan weapons.

Our chief instructor is Sensei John Watson. The dojo is a member of the Genbukai Canada organization, headed by Sensei Cameron Steuart.

Grading

The spring grading schedule is at follows:

Pre-Grading and Kid's Grading
On Saturday, May 2nd, 10:00 AM in the dojo there will be a grading for kids yellow-belt and lower, and a pre-grading for all other ranks and ages.

March 2009 Sunday Seminars

The dojo will be presenting several seminars on Sunday afternoons in March. These will focus on specific aspects of Karate training. The seminars will begin at 1:00 PM and generally run until about 4:00 PM.

Sherwood Park Karate-Do
